Today, a facebook page for your business/brand is a must. With half a billion users globally and 51% of the UK population using the social network, facebook is an extremely powerful marketing tool.
If you haven’t already created a page for your business on the social media behemoth then you can do so by clicking here.
The trouble with facebook pages is that most businesses don’t utilise them to their full potential. It is very important that as a business owner you understand the power of these pages. When used correctly, platforms such as facebook can become tools that can grow your business exponentially.
To achieve growth via social media most businesses will at some stage require professional help in both design and management. But, because we are so nice, we’ve put together a few tips and pointers to set you on the right path…
Setting your facebook link or URL is essential. When you create a facebook page you are given a long winded, ugly URL. Such URL’s aren’t easy to share and you certainly couldn’t put them on a business card or any other print marketing for that matter. Surely you would prefer a pretty URL like ours http://www.facebook.com/ensema. Well, we’ll show you how you can get one…
To claim your own pretty URL you will first need to get yourself 25 fans. So get inviting! See which friends and family are online now and ask them for a like via chat. Alternatively inbox 25 of your closest friends, family and colleagues. Once you have achieved the 25 likes you will need to visit http://www.facebook.com/username. From the aforementioned link you can set your URL. Be sure that you are happy with your URL and there are no spelling mistakes as you can only change your username once.
Clean, professional looking graphics are a MUST! This should be the first bit of spending you make on your facebook marketing campaign. You will need a cover photo and profile picture designing as a minimum. Additional designs may be required for highlighted/milestone images, apps and wall posts. If you would like some help with your graphic design, give us a shout on 01274 564677 or alternatively send us a message via our contact page.
Engage your audience, provoke responses from your fans with questions, competitions and giveaways. Also, be sure to enable private messages via your admin panel so fans can contact your business directly.
Set current or past milestones for your business. Use this to highlight your business achievements. For example, a grand opening or a product launch.
Highlighted & Pinned Posts
Highlighted posts can be used to garner attention to a particular post. This feature, although not the greatest, will make a post stand out by spanning both columns of the timeline.
Pinned posts are very useful and can be used to pin a post to the top of your page for 7 days. This can be useful to highlight important news or offers.
